Principal Advisor
Jesse Fleming
Jesse is passionate about supporting teams that know they can improve and want to invest to get there. He understands your time and capital are finite resources that deserve respect. Jesse helps leaders break through operational headwinds, simplify structures, and deliver sustainable results on their priorities.
Jesse spent over two decades as a federal public servant, including more than 11 years at the executive level. His Government of Canada career spanned five distinct organizations, serving as an executive within three of them. The thread across his public service career was navigating Canada's sustainability, climate, and energy ecosystems. Most recently, he served as a Director General at Environment and Climate Change Canada, where he directed funds that deployed over $3 billion in federal investments to leverage climate change actions.
Jesse's strategic approach is built on a technical and financial foundation. He earned an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a finance specialization from Queen's University, a Master of Applied Science (MASC) in civil engineering with an environmental specialization from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in civil engineering with environmental and professional internship specializations from Queen's University. While he previously held Professional Engineer (P.Eng) and Certified Management Accountant / Certified Professional Accountant (CMA, CPA) designations, Jesse focuses on strategic execution over past titles. Work with him not for the certifications, but for his commitment to your organizational success.
Jesse actively embraces the productive tension between professional rigor and good-natured fun. He operates on the belief that your team already possesses more answers than you give yourselves credit for. He welcomes healthy skepticism, expects you to challenge and triangulate his advice, and values authenticity (including a pro-swearing stance if the room allows).
Beyond his consulting work, Jesse is grounded by an over 20-year marriage to his incredible partner (Kathleen) and their three kind and intelligent teenage children (twin daughters Miriam and Talia, and son Caleb). Their dog (Evie) lacks discipline - but Jesse takes responsibility for that.
